Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and efficient Parking Lot Attendant to join our team for the upcoming Family Fun Fest / Riverside County Fair. This role is crucial in managing the influx of vehicles and ensuring a smooth parking experience for all attendees. The attendant will be responsible for collecting parking fees and guiding guests to available parking spots, as well as maintaining a safe and organized parking area.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests in a friendly and welcoming manner as they enter the parking lot.
  • Collect parking fees, make change, and issue receipts to guests.
  • Direct vehicles to parking spaces efficiently to maximize space utilization.
  • Monitor parking areas to prevent theft or damage to vehicles.
  • Provide guests with information regarding locations and event schedules as needed.
  • Assist in setting up and breaking down parking signs and barricades before and after events.
  • Maintain a clean and safe parking area, reporting any safety concerns to management immediately.

Employment Requirements as per California Law:

  • Must adhere to the California Minimum Wage requirements.
  • Entitled to overtime pay (1.5 times the regular rate) for hours worked over 8 in a day or 40 in a week, and double time for hours worked over 12 in a day.
  • Must be provided with meal breaks: one 30-minute unpaid break for shifts over 5 hours, and a second meal break for shifts over 10 hours.
  • Must be given rest breaks: 10-minute paid rest for every 4 hours worked.
  • Employers must provide workers’ compensation insurance.
  • Compliance with California’s anti-discrimination, harassment, and retaliation laws.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Capable of working in various weather conditions.
  • Previous experience in parking management or customer service is preferred but not required.
